Most people assume that if a gutter guard style works, it will keep EVERYTHING out. This is unrealistic because of a few things.
- A micro mesh gutter guard keeps everything, including fast-flowing water, out of your gutters. This won’t help because when water goes over the top of the gutters, it defeats the purpose of the guards.
- Sponge-type gutter guards will collect seed pods and debris in the foam surface and actually cause clogs or even start growing inside of your gutters.
- Many believe that aluminum hood-style gutter guards will cause the water to slide around the base and go into the gutter, while the debris will slide off the roof. We’ve found that this is simply a marketing tactic to sell more expensive guards.
